Public bug reported:
i have installed ubuntu 21.04 64bit with 2 language for keyboard layout. first:
American En and Second: Persian Fa.
The Problem:
when i switch keyboard language from En to Fa, it will type numbers in Persian
using both number rows in top of keyboard and Numpad numbers. the problem is
that many applications and websites does not recognize Persian numbers as
numbers so i have to switch between language inputs continuously to for example
fill a form containing words and numbers in Persian.
the problem exist in recent ubuntu releases such as 21.04 and 20.10. before
that there was a solution for that. in the past for example in ubuntu 18.04,
when i changed En to Fa, it typed numbers using Number Row (in top of keyboard)
in Persian but at the same time it typed Numpad numbers in English. So filling
a form in Persian with numbers did not need to switch input languages because i
was able to type numbers in English using Numpad while the keyboard language
was Fa.
One more thing, i have windows 10 in same laptop with dual keyboard layout (En
and Fa). windows does not have before mentioned problem because it is more
similar to old ubuntu releases and Numpad always type in English regardless of
keyboard language.
What do i expect:
I expect Numpad keys always types numbers in English regardless of keyboard
input language.
i hope i have described the problem clearly, and hope ubuntu find a solution
for that.
