@Brian - it maybe that very issue (why I mentioned the bug in the description & likely wrote as if it was) but for it to be that issue, the box has to eventually boot..
feels similar yes, but still different.. I didn't want to leave the box on overnight (I thought about; it'd have answered the boot question) I'm writing an updated lubuntu daily now (mkusb/live; yesterday was mkusb/clone as I recall) for testing.. I also plan to zsync my ubuntu ISO & try that..
