The other reason this is a critical bug is because if the user does not have Thunderbird configured to save messages in Sent Mail -- which the user *shouldn't*, e.g., if the user is using Gmail, since Gmail saves outbound messages automatically, then this bug causes DATA LOSS by closing the window without saving the message ANYWHERE.
Can believe this bug is still not fixed after nearly a decade. Glad to see it's about to be fixed, but as someone else pointed out in a recent comment, if this is just a matter of changing the status codes that cause Thunderbird to leave the compose window open, then maybe we should make that fix in TB78 rather than waiting until the next major release for it to be fixed? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1215882 Title: Emails are silently discarded on 554 reply to STARTTLS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/thunderbird/+bug/1215882/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
