Yes still an issue. I recently upgrade and still Samsung Laptop CDRW, DVD ROM 
and a Dell DVD RW, CD-RW DVD ROM also are not recognized. Device info follows:

Sorry for the windows system out but I am on Dial-Up and I have not been
able to get Juno up again in Ubuntu had it running till I Did a clean
install of 6.10. Still working on that issue myself
