Ok - I've taken the upstream patch and applied it to the focal version
of gnome-maps.

Please can folks test this to confirm that this issue is resolved
without regression in this area.

As far as I can gather, the commit removes the satellite view - this is
the same in hirsute and impish versions of gnome-maps.

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntubudgie-dev/scratchy
    sudo apt install gnome-maps


If this is confirmed I will kick off the SRU process to get the fix reviewed by 
the SRU team and hopefully (if acceptable) released.
