Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. I noticed that your attached logs are missing the mysql error log (/var/log/mysql/error.log), could you attach the content of this file as well?
You also mentioned you installed mysql and mariadb (you indeed have mariadb packages in the attached logs), they are not fully co- installable, please remove all the mariadb related packages before you try to install mysql. This might fix your issue (I can't confirm because I did not see the mysql error log). Since there is not enough information in your report to begin triage or to differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I am marking this bug as "Incomplete". We would be grateful if you would: provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to "New". For local configuration issues, you can find assistance here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community ** Changed in: mysql-8.0 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Summary changed: - package mysql-server-8.0 8.0.26-0ubuntu0.21.04.3 failed to install/upgrade: installed mysql-server-8.0 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 + package mysql-server-8.0 8.0.26-0ubuntu0.21.04.3 failed to install/upgrade: mariadb co-installability issue -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938634 Title: package mysql-server-8.0 8.0.26-0ubuntu0.21.04.3 failed to install/upgrade: mariadb co-installability issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-8.0/+bug/1938634/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
