Confirmed here on an intel i945 too.
I can't really remember what I did to have those crashes but it wasn't only
during alt-tabbing (it was often when scrolling a page on firefox IIRC).
I also tried ctrl+alt+backspace without any result, compiz was taking 100% of
CPU and killing it + reloading X fixed the issue.
