Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kde-core

In Hebrew, we call the weekdays "first day" (Sunday), "second day"
(Monday), and so forth. They are often abbreviated with the letters of
the Hebrew alphabet. In Kontact, Sunday is translated as "יום א", Monday
is "יום ב", and so forth. The redundant word "יום" (day) makes reading
the weekday impossible unless the pane is very, very wide. I suggest
that the word "יום" be removed from the translation, leaving "א" for
Sunday, "ב" for Monday, and so forth. That way, the weekday could be
seen while keeping the pane at a reasonable width. It is also consistent
with printed calendars, which do not have the word "יום" printed on
them.

Note that this bug is an Ubuntu bug, not a KDE bug. Apparently, KDE from
kde.org has the weekdays translated as I suggest. See relevant bug at
BKO: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149912

תודה רבה (Thank you very much!)
