Public bug reported:
When installing from the latest alternate daily hardy CD image for Ubuntu, I
noticed that I wasn't asked about screen resolutions as I am normally.
The machine in question is connected to my monitor via a 4-port KVM that
prevents monitor probing/detection of refresh rates, and resolutions.
Once the system is installed, attempting to run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
does not present me with any options regarding monitor resolutions, or
refresh rates.
When X loads, my monitor's OSD reports a resolution of 800x600. When attempting
to run displayconfig-gtk, the options for monitor model and
resolution show completely empty combo boxes, and there seems to be no way to
enter this information manually.
Attached is an X log from another machine that is connected to the KVM
that is correctly configured to work with the monitor.
** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
