Public bug reported:
I am using Hardy Heron on a Dell Inspiron 6400 Intel Dual Core 2 laptop. Kernel
version is 2.6.22-14-generic. NetworkManager version is 0.6.5-0ubuntu10. When
booting eth0 is being deactivated and so is my wlan0. I can start this
interface from the command line with ifconfig and dhclient3, but that should
not be right.
Here is part of my dmesg:
Dec 20 09:16:04 HK-PH NetworkManager: <info> Updating allowed wireless network
lists.
Dec 20 09:16:04 HK-PH NetworkManager: <info> Updating VPN Connections...
Dec 20 09:18:12 HK-PH NetworkManager: <info> eth0: Device is fully-supported
using driver 'b44'.
Dec 20 09:18:12 HK-PH NetworkManager: <info> nm_device_init(): waiting for
device's worker thread to start
Dec 20 09:18:12 HK-PH NetworkManager: <info> nm_device_init(): device's worker
thread started, continuing.
Dec 20 09:18:12 HK-PH NetworkManager: <info> Now managing wired Ethernet
(802.3) device 'eth0'.
Dec 20 09:18:12 HK-PH NetworkManager: <info> Deactivating device eth0.
The interface is supported, but deactivated.
