I agree, just like you almost everybody will have switched to later releases by
now.
And since trusty is no more in standard support (only ESM) nowadays and we
didn't have a party of "critical for me as well" updates here it is unlikely to
be fixed.
Therefore while cleaning up old bugs I'm setting the Trusty task to
"Won't Fix"
