Using a modified version of the otherwise not compilable vendor's open
source version of the driver - rtl8187b-modified - everything seems to
be a mess. Connection percentages are not shown, I always get zero bars
etc. BUT nm connections work perfect for unencrypted and wep-networks.
wpa does not work at all(even using wpa_supplicant manually - people
over the internet share this problem, it is just not supported i think,
even though supplied by realtek. but the last time i used that version
of the driver was one ubuntu installation ago. So these are not facts, I
just wanted to add, that latest stable ndiswrapper is obviously the best
way to go.
