I use my machine on a daily/constant basis. I just upgraded to Gutsy a
couple of weeks ago. I am not sure that I am willing to move to an
Alpha of Hardy for something that ought to be fixable under Gutsy.

There should be some way to get it to stop.

I suppose that I could install it as a dual-boot option, as I have
plenty of unallocated space (where feisty was), but then having it work
that way doesn't necessarily narrow down where the problem is here.

I just checked the last dmesg and syslog from the old feisty
installation, and the messages were not there. This is clearly an issue
with gutsy. Just for grins, last night I downloaded, compiled, built
and installed kernel version 2.6.23.12 AMD64. The rtc errors were gone.
Perhaps it would make sense for me to rebuild the current kernel version
and make sure all of the options are right, but I prefer to stay with
whatever comes down from the repo, for as much stability as possible.
