I have a similar problem booting Hardy Alpha 2 Desktop Live CD (md5sum and burning verified) on my Dell Inspiron 6400 with an Ati Mobility Radeon X1400. The error message I get is:
/etc/gdm/failsafeXServer: line47: [:too many arguments Warning: Could not retrieve EDID because get-edid is not installed (1): error: this program does not know how to configure the "10 shared/default-x-server doesn't exist" X server Warning: Could not generate /etc/X11/xorg.conf.failsafe for vesa driver. Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf are attached. sudo dpkg-reconfigure server-xorg doesn't fix the problem: it just skip any question regarding monitor configuration. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11030721/Xorg.0.log -- Hardy Fails to Load X After Updates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/177578 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
