mecab and mecab-ipadic for Feisty
In Feisty Ubuntu 7.04 installed with Japanese as the language and SCIM-canna
for input
Install mecab
Ran mecab
Input Japanese text
The returned text is partially EUC and mojibake was displayed
My fix:
Compiled mecab and ipadic from their source files using
for mecab: ./configure --enable-utf8-only
for ipadic: ./configure --with-charset=utf-8
** Affects: mecab (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
