Public bug reported: Dovecot 2.3.13 failed to build with LTO, so was configured in Ubuntu with 'optimize=-lto' to disable it.
Debian found that Dovecot 2.3.16 built ok with LTO and gcc 10, so implemented support in debian/rules for it. Unfortunately, with gcc 11, building with LTO once again fails to build due to some test failures. See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=997513 Since we're shipping gcc 11 in jammy, when we merge Dovecot 2.3.16 we should disable this change from Debian to avoid FTBFS. ** Affects: dovecot (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Bryce Harrington (bryce) Status: Triaged ** Affects: dovecot (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #997513 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=997513 ** Also affects: dovecot (Debian) via https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=997513 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: dovecot (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: dovecot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: dovecot (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Bryce Harrington (bryce) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1951325 Title: FTBFS with LTO To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dovecot/+bug/1951325/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
