Ok, thanks for the update. Interestingly, AFAIK the iwlwifi driver
specifies a max API number (50 in case of the focal 5.4 kernel) and
tries to load that firmware and then walks down until it succeeds:

op_mode iwlmvm
So the driver loaded iwlwifi-cc-a0-48.ucode and I'm surprised that
replacing -46.ucode made a difference for you.
Anyways, I'll close the ticket. If you come across this problem again,
please open a new ticket.
