Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24
Using the live-cd (xubuntu) to install the Alpha2 release of Hardy the
computer crashes when the installation process is at 15%, saying it is
detecting file system. I install with manual configuration of
partitions, but have done this quite often and that should not be the
problem.
(to get to the point of installing I had to dpkg-reconfigure xserver-
xorg and choose the vesa (instead of the i810 which is the actual
videocard) driver, otherwise the system will not start at all. Also
there seems to be the same problem while loading hardware at startup
which has to do with intel_rng and makes the computer crash about 2 out
of three times during startup process, just as in Feisty and.Gutsy Just
mention this in case it might be connected with the crash during
startup)
The alternate cd seems to install without problems thought after
installation in the new os the network devices are not found.
