You need to elevate your privileges with `sudo`, ie. `sudo dmesg` for
security reasons.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

I won't get you to add this detail now, but will mark this bug as
incomplete instead. If you believe I'm in error you can change status
back to 'new', but more details will be required.
