Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. You mentioned that the device is /dev/sda1, but that is likely a partition in the disk. Could you please provide the output of following command:
# lsblk /dev/sda smartd/smartmontools sometimes can have problem with USB devices, but we would need more logs from you in order to try to determine what's going on. I think you can access its logs by using "journalctl -u smartmontools". Could you also please provide the output of: # smartctl -a /dev/sda Last but not least, would you be able to schedule a test with smartctl on your device? I don't know if it will work or not (due to it being a USB disk), but it's worth a try. I think you can do it by running: # smartctl -t short /dev/sda After that, please post the logs: # smartctl -l selftest /dev/sda Since there is not enough information in your report to begin triage or to differentiate between a local configuration problem and a bug in Ubuntu, I am marking this bug as "Incomplete". We would be grateful if you would: provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to "New". For local configuration issues, you can find assistance here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community ** Changed in: smartmontools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1953523 Title: KDE problem mounting Sandisk USB To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/smartmontools/+bug/1953523/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
