Public bug reported:
Hello. I'll forgo any long introductions etc...
I recently installed Gutsy 7.10 on a Compaq Presario 2100; Celeron 2.40 Ghz, 1
G ram,
The installation went perfectly, no errors, no operating problems.
However, when I tried to resume from suspend, hibernate or even shut down the
machine would not start up; after a few retries, the machine would start.
The bios no longer recognized the hard drive. NO mater what I tried, it would
not be recognized. I even tried booting from a dos disk and no luck.
Changes I made to the installation before shut down : I installed subvesion.
Wanting to use Ubuntu, I tried a second HDD....SAME THING...installed it
fine. Ran with it for a few hours...then...HDD CRASH when I tried to
resume from a suspend. ...i is not recognized by bios again.
