Binary package hint: desktop-file-utils
Ubuntu 7.04
1) Create untitled folder or file on the Desktop.
2) Rename it like
.abc
or
.asdfg
etc.
3) Open terminal.
4) Type
$ cd ~/Desktop
$ rm .abc //or rm -r .abc
5) Close the Terminal. Look at your Desktop. Files/folders are still there, but
they are deleted.
Reboot solves this problem. Bug.
