This is a problem when running a set of desktops with a traditional CUPS server that advertises its printers. The desktops should see only the server queues but by default they get duplicated (or even multiplicated entries) because the printers also advertise themselves.
The setting suggested by Till on cups-browsed.conf CreateIPPPrinterQueues No does not seem to have any effect. The undesired printers remain visible and listable with lpstat -e Applications like Libreoffice and oKular will show a list of redundant printers, which is, of course, confusing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1753509 Title: avahi-daemon adds/installs every printer on network To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/+bug/1753509/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
