I'm no doctor--but it looks like a video problem--as I had with my GW M285-E.
What type of card do you have? Would gather your notebooks specs and attach
them?
Note: It would work in a VM: Any OS in VMWare uses the hosts available drivers
etc...
I'm running KUbuntu 7.10 which relieved me of the 7.04 troubles.
