Hello, I am unable to reproduce this error but may be able to with some additional information.
Do you know when mysql was auto-installed on your system? Were you trying to install any packages before the reboot with apt-get install or were you just running apt-get upgrade before it stalled? Does the file /var/log/mysql/error.log still exist on your system and if so would you be able to provide its contents?
