I am experiencing this (suddenly -- it worked fine an hour ago) in
64-bit gutsy.
I just waited 6 minutes for a single file to be moved to the trash,
before giving up and cancelling the operation.
There are 9.4GB of files in Trash (although I don't understand why that
information might be useful; there are hundreds of GB of free space on
the /home filesystem).
