Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Steps:
1) Log in, screen resolution is wrong and the right one is not available,
current is 1400x1050, should be 1680x1050. (read notes also).
2) Modify xorg.conf
3) Restart xorg and use the correct resolution
4) Reboot or shutdown
5) The next boot xorg.conf gets overwritten (with a backup as xorg.conf.1) and
resolution settings are wrong again.

What should Happen:
1) Xorg should not overwrite xorg.conf
2) Xorg should generate new xorg.conf only if it doesn't exist.

Relevant Hardware
