Thanks for the patch.
It appears to be wrong however: as far I can see the change is in
write_kernel_entry(), but there's $lockold is supposed to get passed as the
10th argument.
As far as I can see $do_lockold gets passed in the relevant places.
This is with Ubuntu Hardy.
Can you provide feedback if this is fixed for you in Ubuntu Gutsy/Hardy already?
Otherwise I'll look into it more closely.
