You're right. We need both codesearch lists. I believe updating the distro packages is doable for Jammy but I am willing to wait for 22.10 if you don't think it's a good idea now.
For our LTS users as long as they're using distro packages, it shouldn't make a difference which way we go. I think it may be slightly better for the few third-party app developers that call gnome-control-center to use the new name since they can use the new name and not worry about the old name as long as they don't care about old distro versions. I couldn't find any Snap packages that successfully call gnome-control- center. I'm curious to see how that would break. Maybe if we do the rename we can add a compatibility hidden .desktop. I've never done the compatibility D-Bus thing before but I think something in GNOME did it a few years ago. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1964136 Title: Settings item not shown in System menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1964136/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
