i just installed gutsy using a new Asus VW222 wide screen
none of the <F4> VGA settings helped: from default to max res, the installer
came up with 800X600.
attempts to circumvent the above bug didn't improve [auto-hide, put the top bar
on the left, etc].
i comment here because i looked for tips on something like this subject: failed
to find...
i finally used TAB to advance to the supposed "OK" but this is a workaround for
someone that installed Ubuntu 10 times in the last year, not for a newbie.

The install dialog box is larger than the default resolution (800x600). Next
button cannot be seen without removing toolbars.
