Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-nettool
The network manager recognizes the RaLink interface (a network card you insert
into a slot) Some wireless networks in my environment are properly detected by
it.
It just won't connect to them (kind of enters a fruitless loop)
Using the Synaptec manager I've installed a configuration tool for
RT2500, which doesn't detect the card (tells me to check the rt2x00.conf
file).
The hardware information tool however lists the card, provides some
information (device name or manufacturer) but not all of it (for
instance: Status = Status, or Device Type = Unknown,...)
I've installed the rt-2500 source package (for Debian, it says),
apparently without errors, but nothing changes.
Thx
