Public bug reported:

The brightness level control is visible only on a notebook, but it is
not visible on the desktop version. The brightness of both my monitors
are excessive and I must be turning down and up from the rear buttons, I
would prefer that I could manipulate the brightness from the control
panel like with the notebook version.

For some reason this control disappears in the desktop version.

At the moment I must use xrand to lower the brightness manually,
although when I lock the computer or restart it the brightness is
restored and I must be running those commands multiple times during the
day.
