Public bug reported:
I am responsible for several new servers. They have the Adaptec SATA
"bios RAID" chip in them, that requires the aic94xx driver, aic94xx-
seq.fw firmware, and kernel 2.6.23(-6?) or newer.
I tried Gentoo 2007.0, Debian Etch 4.0-r2, Ubuntu 7.10, Fedora 7,
openSUSE 10.3, Sabayon 3.4e, SysRescueCD 4.2, and a half dozen other
lesser known distros.
Hardy Heron Alpha 2 was THE FIRST DISTRO that worked with that Adaptec
chip and actually saw all drives in the server.
So this brings me to the missing feature:
Where is the list of devs for Heron Alpha 2, specifically if possible the one
responsible for the kernel update and any aic94xx fixes. I must know who my
new God is that I shall worship :)
Thanks for allowing me to get my angry boss off my back -- who has been
screaming at me for all his new servers being effectively paper weights
until I tried Heron!!
