If there's no crash then please try Ctrl+Alt+F2. I think I saw a similar issue last week where the login screen appeared but I was not logged out. Logging in again returned me to my session but Ctrl+Alt+F2 should achieve the same.
Sounds like gdm3 might be restarting the login screen (another gnome- shell instance) too soon and forcing a VT switch away from the user session. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969121 Title: System fallback to gdm login screen when hot-plugging a external monitor in 1st time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/1969121/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
