** Description changed: - Each time I launch Synaptic Package Manager in Ubuntu2D, the - Authenticate (password) dialog pops up, and THEN *immediately* loses - focus. + Each time I launch Synaptic Package Manager in Ubuntu, the Authenticate + (password) dialog pops up, and THEN *immediately* loses focus. Someone not recognizing this, might CONTINUE typing their password (inadvertently) into whatever application DOES have focus. Because of this, this could be considered a security related bug. The Authenticate (password) dialog SHOULD pop up and REMAIN focused, until the user finishes entering the password, or until the user intentionally changes the focus in some explicit manner.
