Public bug reported:
After a fresh installation of Ubuntu Mate 22.04 I installed software
from the software boutique. After the software installation was complete
I closed the welcome screen. I then went to launch the Synaptics package
manager via the menu, it requested my elevated password, takes the
password successfully and never launches. Tried multiple times to no
avail. Only a reboot would solve the issue. Once rebooted the Synaptics
package manager selected from the menu would launch
