gdm3 version 42.0-1ubuntu4 is relatively out of date now. Please update
your system:
sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade
and then reboot. You should have version 42.0-1ubuntu7.
If the problem persists then please run:
apport-collect 1969294
lspci -k > lspci.txt
journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt
and attach the resulting text files here.
