Public bug reported:

My External Speakers and headphones have stopped working on Toshiba A135-S2246.
The speakers built in the system are working fine.
And there is nothing wrong with the speakers itself as they work good on XP.
I tried to reinstall alsa-driver too but that doesnt helped either.
When I type alsamixer on terminal i get following error :

ALSA lib simple_none.c:1710:(simple_add1) helem (MIXER,'Capture
Switch',0,3,0) appears twice or more

alsamixer: function snd_mixer_load failed: Invalid argument

Also installed alsamixer gui, and gnome alsamixer but that also gives error
when tried to open.

By running this command : sudo lshw -C multimedia
This is the output i get:
 *-multimedia
       description: Audio device
       product: SB450 HDA Audio
       vendor: ATI Technologies Inc
       physical id: 14.2
       bus info: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:00:14.2
       version: 01
       width: 64 bits
       clock: 33MHz
       capabilities: pm msi bus_master cap_list
       configuration: driver=HDA Intel latency=64 module=snd_hda_intel

Have tried to get this working from past 2 days now.. and have tried rebuilding
the alsa-driver too.. but that doesnt help in any way.
Any help to make this work would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
