Public bug reported:
when running sudo apt-get upgrade and therefore get an upgrade for the kernel,
it seems like update-grub seems to get corrupted and outputs this error every
time i run 'sudo update-grub':
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo update-grub

and this when running 'sudo apt-get upgrade':

i even get an kernel panic because the new initrd.img generated was corrupted.
I fixed it
by replacing it with a previous one.
My uname -a output is the following:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a
Linux stolz 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Dec 18 05:28:27 UTC 2007 x86_64
GNU/Linux
and my computer has got 1 GB of RAM memory and the processor (via /proc/cpu) is
the following:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
