Public bug reported: ctrans converts gmeta files into postscript and other formats. It uses graphcaps from /usr/share/ncarg/graphcaps/, which is not present in the ubuntu package.
Running the command "ctrans -d ps.mono -f font4 gmeta" produces this output: ctrans: FATAL - open(/usr/share/ncarg/graphcaps/ps.mono,O_RDONLY) ctrans: FATAL - Can't initialize device(/usr/share/ncarg/graphcaps/ps.mono) [ open(/usr/share/ncarg/graphcaps/ps.mono,O_RDONLY) ] Downloading the https://www.earthsystemgrid.org/api/v1/dataset/ncl.662.dap/file/ncl_ncarg-6.6.2-Debian9.8_64bit_gnu630.tar.gz tar file and extracting graphcaps into /usr/share/ncarg fixes the issue. Can you please add this directory to the package? ** Affects: ncl (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973365 Title: ncl-ncarg program "ctran" graphcaps missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ncl/+bug/1973365/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
