I can see that it works only if the user name appears in the /etc/group file
near the group name, but are not considered GIDs.
For example, in my Ubuntu Box the user 'andrea' is considered a member of the
group 'admin' because in my /etc/group I have a line like this:
admin:x:110:andrea
I'm also member of the group 'andrea' because in my /etc/passwd my usar GID is
the same of the GID of my group one:
/etc/group: andrea:x:1000:
/etc/passwd: andrea:x:1000:1000:Andrea Corbellini,,,:/home/andrea:/bin/bash

In synthesis, it works partially on Hardy. Please, tell me if you can
confirm this happens also in Gutsy.
