** Description changed: I open this bug based on a discussion on the forum https://ubuntu- mate.community/t/when-i-drag-a-drop-an-icon-to-the-desktop-the-icon- appears-in-the-left-side-of-the-desktop/25478 As you can read in the discussion this bug affects Ubuntu Mate 20.04 and 22.04 . The problem is that when an icon (file or folder) is dropped on the desktop it is automatically placed in a fixed location on the left side of the desktop, it is never placed where I drop it. As it is fully explained in the forum discussion, that happens even if the "Keep Aligned" option is unchecked.
