if you right click on a file (on nautilus) and then select: properties>open with>add: you will see a UI with a list of application
this is the UI that the user need see if he select the "Other" option. [idea] in the future this UI will help the user to install a "recommend application", for example: the user click on KML, now if Google Earth is already installed, the user will click to run the files (like to day) but if Google Earth is not install the os pop up this UI, now the user need to mark from the list application Google Earth to install it this mean that the application list include not just installed application but also an uninstall application (the uninstall application are a "recommend application"- so in the future you don't need to search for application, you will need to search for a feature). see also - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/135251 -- "Open with, Other" option should default to /usr/bin/ https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145218 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
