I also this issue on my T42. The use "AnythingBut" makes a resolution of this issue and it works very well.(read this links....http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=496180) He made a personal repository(launchpad PPA) so if you are interested in this, test it. I hope this patch go into official.
