This is/was a bug in mailutils 3.14 (see https://bugs.debian.org/1003755) which had an ABI change (over 3.13), but did not bump the abiversion. mailutils 3.15 fixed this issue. In Debian I triggered a binary rebuild of mailfromd after mailutils 3.15 was released, but Ubuntu seems to have not noticed this requirement.
