Public bug reported:
I got the CD for Hardy Studio Alpha 2 i386 today (2007-12-31 10:30 EST) and
tried to install it on my Acer Ferrari notebook with an AMD64 processor.
(I use i386 because I need to install WINE. I had earlier gotten Alpha 1 i386
to run flawlessly on the same machine.)
The install failed.
First error message said that no kernel had been found, and that the system
would install without a kernel if I wanted, but would probably not boot.
The second error message was this:
Warning: Failure trying to run: chroot /target dpkg --force-depends --install
var/cache/apt/archives/libc6_2.7-4ubuntu1_i386.deb
