Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Kubuntu Gutsy,

If the shift key is held down for a few seconds (about 10 I think) the PC beeps
as if indicating a buffer overflow.
After this has occurred, the keyboard will not respond at all. The mouse
continues to work, and using the mouse to log out, re-start the x server clears
the error and the keyboard now works so I can log in again. None of the other
keys I tested for overflow seem to do this including Ctrl and Alt. This means
that I really have avoid using the shift key for marking blocks.

This also used to happen in Feisty, but I have only now been able to pin
down the trigger for this bug. I am currently using the free nv driver
for my nvidia 7300 graphics card, but on Feisty I was using the
restricted nvidia driver so it does not seem to be related to that.

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
