This is still valid for the current installer (Calamares). Desktop
switching is an option in three places in Noble presently:

 1. The live environment (after clicking "Try Lubuntu")
 2. The installer running full screen (after clicking "Install Lubuntu")
 3. Worse of all, at the prompt where you can choose what to do!

I'm not immediately clear on what the ideal solution is. If we change
the number of desktops or disable the desktop switching keys, that is
something that will negatively change the final installation.

The key here will be making a change exclusive to the live environment.
