The same problem exist for Chinese input. There is a manual solution (require editing config files) at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/language-support- zh/+bug/34282/comments/69
(you can read the whole thread, it's quite instructive). I created a help page at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SCIM and it's up-to-date for the Gutsy bug, with a slightly less elegant solution than the one Ming Hua advises (you can try both solutions, they both work for Chinese input with scim). Since you're trying to use scim, it should also work for Japanese and Korean using scim (Japanese users sometimes prefer another method, but I can't remember its name). The way this bug description evolved in Gutsy might have made this bug a duplicate of Bug #34282 though. Hope it helps -- Can't Input Japanese Text https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/44626 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
