Public bug reported:

When I had windows 98 & also XP, the computer would run with no lines of
static on it (mutiple horizontal white lines jumping all over the
place). Now since installing ubuntu, there is a million zillion lines of
white static.  If I use knoppix "live" CD, there is no problem.  How do
I fix this?  Many thanks, Rich...
